Drove out to the Badlands for a night of camping. We've been having amazing fall weather so decided to head east to try and get some pictures.
We arrived early on Thursday but soon discovered I had left my camera memory card at home so we took the animal route through the park and soon ran across this guy. Only had my phone to get a couple of pictures of him scratching on that post.
Back from our trip home to get my memory card, we set up in the campground to wait for our hike back to the notch for sunset pictures.
Early evening shadows begin to show as the sun goes down.
The rest of these were taken from the "notch." This is a great hike, has some climbing on a log ladder (see later picture of Vick coming down after sunset).
Loved the "sun dogs" above the sunset in this one.
